About Me

I am a bilingual educator with 7 years of experience in Title I Schools. I am an ESL and Google Certified 3rd grade Teacher, a Personalized Learning Coach, 2 time Teacher of the year nominee and one of the first Personalized Learning Change Agent for the School District of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS).

I earned a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a Minor in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I also earned a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from Michigan State University.

I am passionate about delivering data driven instruction, technology incorporation, maximizing personalized learning, and building strong relationships with my students and their families.

I personalize students' learning experience by  student owned data trackers, daily data analysis and I even had a deskless classroom full of flexible seating! Our local newspaper, the Charlotte Observer, wrote an article about my classroom!

Furthermore, I teach in blended learning rotations by incorporating technology based instruction through the platform of Google Classroom. Instead of teaching whole group lessons, I analyze data from the MAP test, weekly assessments, interims and daily notes from aggressive monitoring. From there, I form small group lessons. I strongly believe that through teaching small group lessons, I can guarantee that students are receiving the differentiated instruction they need, based on their personal data.

I am very honored to have been selected to be a Personalized Learning Coach for my school and to have been able to lead multiple professional development workshops for the District of CMS. Through my coaching, I have had the pleasure of encouraging and teaching other amazing educators how to elevate their instruction to a higher, more personalized level, all for the betterment of their students' educational experience. I hope to continue this process in the future, to continue moving forward in efforts to transform education, one classroom, one teacher, one student at a time.
